The ride is on well established trail at C Bar Stables in Valley Mills. The terrain consists of a combination of gentle rolling hills, pasture and rocky caverns. Hoof protection is highly recommended. Helmets are required for all riders under 18 of age. Membership for NATRC is free this year if you have never been a member. Please visit and sign up to be a member.

Negative coggins required. Camping consists of large pasture. There are 13 electric spots and they will be assigned to the first 13 people who pay in full for the ride. Electric spots are $15 each. Additional primitive camping available for no charge, however there is also a ranch fee for everyone of $10 per day. There will be porta-potties, but otherwise the camping is primitive. Volunteers camp for free. Horse water is available from a central source, but it is advisable to bring some water if you can for convenience.

Potluck dinner Saturday night with management providing the main dish. Dinner will be served Friday for $7/per person, including volunteers. All proceeds to go to the Special Olympics of Gatesville to help build their equestrian team equipment for competition in Special Olympics. Continental breakfast will be served to everyone. Volunteers will also be served lunch on Saturday and Sunday. If there is enough interest lunch will be offered on Saturday and Sunday; contact Alice at

GPS will guide you to the location. From Whitney take 22 toward the lake and over the dam. Turn left on 56 and then follow it to County Road 3348. There is a sign for C-Bar Stables. Follow the driveway into camp. From the south go to Valley Mills on hwy 6 and then turn on hwy 56 to county road 3348.
